The Texas Saves test pilot will launch in Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex in April 2005 in celebration of National Financial Literacy Month. Our goal is to enroll 1,500 savers by the summer.
New state Texas Saves campaign partners include: U.S. Department Housing and Urban Development-Texas, U.S. Department of Labor-Texas, Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, Internal Revenue Service-Dallas, Public Strategies, Inc., Citigroup Foundation, El Paso Saves, Texas Department of Banking, Office of Consumer Credit Commission, Office of the Governor, Tarrant County Government, YWCA of Metropolitan Dallas, and Texas Information Resources, and Texas Financial Planning Association to name a few.
The Jr.Finance Literacy Academy, Inc., will launch its $ave then Play Summer Financial Literacy Camps for middle and high school youth in partnership with The Worksource of Gulf Coast, Mountain View College of Dallas, Texas, Tarrant County College South Campus of Fort Worth, Galveston College in Galveston, Texas. Jr.Finance Academy’s Financial Educator Certificate train-the-trainer courses will be held at Mountain View College in Dallas, Texas April 28–30, 2005. Jr.Finance Literacy Academy, Inc. plans to launch Jr.Finance Academy Singapore in Fall 2005.
